Laundry Tips
1. If your dryer seems to take longer to dry the clothes then it used to, remove the screen filter and scrub both sides with a soft brush in warm soapy water (an old toothbrush works well).Then rinse thoroughly and dry before putting back in dryer. This will also help your heating element last longer. Repeat as necessary.

2. If you have stains on clothes from medicated creams rub stain firmly with a baby wipe. Then pre-treat and wash as usual.

3. To clean washable hats place in top rack of dish washer. But be sure to remove hat before the heat cycle then air dry.

4. To soften new jeans or clothes add a 1/2 cup of table salt to water and wash as usual.

5. To fluff up comforters or pillows , drop 2 or3 new tennis balls in the dryer on low heat for 10 minutes.

6. When washing clothes before storing do not use softener. As the softener may leave spots on clothes.

7. White vinegar is a natural and inexpensive way to soften clothes. Just pour 1/4 cup vinegar into soften dispenser or add to final rinse cycle. Then toss clothes into dryer and they come out nice and soft with a fresh clean smell.(no vinegar smell)

8. If you need to hang clothes to dry use a tension curtain rod placed in your laundry room. You can also use a piece of chain or rope.

9. WD-40 will take out grease stains including chap stick, lipstick and crayon from clothing. Spray leave on stain about 10 minutes. Then give it a squirt of dish liquid soap and work it in, then toss it in the washing machine and wash as usual.

10. 1/2 cup of cascade dish powder added to your regular laundry detergent removes red clay, grease and oily stains from clothes.

11. Keep a bottle of Dawn original blue dish detergent on hand, it's a great degreaser as well as a spot remover.
